Frequently Asked Questions
Are the workshops online or in-person?
Most workshops are held online to accommodate colleagues in multiple locations, and to illustrate some best practices for virtual meetings. If your organization tends to have a more in-person meeting culture, we can certainly schedule workshops on site.
I feel uncomfortable showing my colleagues just how nervous I can be when I present. Do I have to present during the workshops?
No. You can go at your own speed. Prior attendees have mentioned that they enjoyed the surprising support and camaraderie of their group. You may find that being with others experiencing the same challenges will be very helpful. Either way, your participation is in your control
I’m not a nervous presenter. I just want to get better at this important skill. Will there be too much emphasis on conquering anxiety?
Many of the best practices we teach also have the benefit of significantly reducing anxiety. Additionally, later workshops focus more on technique and presentation structure with very little time spent on reducing anxiety.
Our mission is to create presenters who make the most of every speaking opportunity. Everyone’s challenges and opportunities will be different, and everyone will finish with new skills.
Is there homework between workshops?
No, but … Attendees find themselves trying out new techniques after every workshop. You’ll get more value by practicing after workshops, but there aren’t any mandated exercises.
What if I have a concern that I don’t want to discuss in front of the whole group.
No worries! Speak Easy coaches provide contact information so that you can discuss any concerns between workshops (at no extra charge).
